Aixa Renta-DeLuca is a wildlife and pet artist in the US. known for her powerful, evocative paintings with striking, moody, painterly backgrounds. Her composition, attention to detail and color choices make the subjects seem to want to come out of the canvas. Aixa's creative path includes working as a Graphic Designer, Art Director and professional photographer before immersing herself in painting mostly in oils and  pastels. Aixa's paintings have been on exhibit at the Museum of Art of Ventura County, Buenaventura and San Pedro Art Association Gallery, Ventura Community Health Hospital as well as in the Ventura and Lake County fairs where most of the paintings won awards amongst others.

OIL PAINTINGS are truly magical with a richness and transparency that pulls you into the painting. I use high quality oil paints and am very environmentally conscious so I use oils and soap to clean my brushes and also oil and solvent free medium instead of mineral spirits as I paint to avoid solvent fumes. My paintings are them varnished to protect them for many years to come.

PASTELS: My pastel paintings are created using pastel pencils, pan pastels, and soft pastels of various hardness. The pastel paintings, include a variety of subjects, from wildlife, pets, nature and people. They range from lightly photorealistic to very loose and painterly allowing the velvety pastels to show the intensity of the colors and the buttery texture. I love pastels!

Expressionistic Series: My painting style is rich and suggestive expressionism. I use mostly palette knives and acrylics, mixed media to paint on canvas. The intricate, textured and dynamic style floods my senses with vibrant colors that I layers and swirl in an emotive creation. I loves the depth and interesting patterns that flows through the canvas when using the knives. The natural process of mixing colors on the knife serendipitously reveal the subjects.

• Pet portraits' reference photos should be high resolution images, clear, showing detail. Without a good reference photo I will not be able to accept the job as you will not be happy with the finished painting.  :) Please do not select reference photos that were taken with flash, are taken standing over the dog, are too dark or blurry, are taken from too far away, etc. To get the best photo, take your pet outside or near a bright window (no sun), best light is usually in the shade, do not use flash, get down to the dog's eye level. If the dog is facing the sun/light, then the color of the eyes will show better. Close ups are great! Above all, be patient and take lots of pictures to then select the best. I will be glad to photograph your dog near the Clermont, FL area for $40 (1digital image will be provided). Your pet's portrait will be its best if I you get the best reference photo quality possible. It takes 4 weeks or longer to finish a painting. There may be a waiting list before I can start your painting. If you have a deadline, please order early.
